Looking for the hot-selling Wii Fit Balance Board to slap under the Christmas tree this season? Look no further! Here it is.
Actually, you should probably look a bit closer, since this clever Chinese company is looking to dupe a lot of unsuspecting buyers into thinking that their product is the real thing.
I’ll give them kudos for a well-done logo, though, and “kudos” is all they’re going to get from me. Besides, I don’t even own a Wii 🙂
That’s pretty funny, I bet somebody fell for it.
Honestly, I own Wii Fit, and it’s nice, but not enough that one couldn’t just wait for their local Wal*Mart, Best Buy, Gamestop or whatever to replenish their stock. I’d say the same for the Wii itself, it’s not worth it to go online and spend $400+ just because you wanna get it for somebody for Christmas.
The “Wii mania” kinda blows my mind, to be honest. I hear about the Wii’s flying off of shelves, but I don’t really know anyone who is using them on a regular basis, if at all anymore. I have a lot of gamer friends, and some who’ve purchased the Wii, but they’ve almost all moved along (or back) to the X360.
That said, the Wii is a good trend for the industry to pay attention to.
Definitely, I think that a lot of it right now is just the “thrill of the hunt” aspect of it. Like you said, they’re flying off the shelves and I (as somebody who works in retail) am always having customer after customer asking if we have any in only to be disappointed. And that very fact is the allure of the Wii, it’s the fact that you found one in stock and you got one, and these other people didn’t.
But then you get it home, things are going well… but then a few months later, like you said, they move along or back to the 360. I know I play with mine all the time.
Speaking of the 360, I like that you can stream Netflix stuff from it now, but I notice that what you can stream is limited compared to Netflix’s physical DVD collection. I wanted to rent Iron Man or some TV show I want to catch up on, well, they don’t have it as something you can stream yet (if they ever do.)
Indeed, hence my “Wii-mania” concept, since it appears to have reached almost ridiculous status at this point. Still, it’s a decent gaming device, and certainly one of the BEST options for true, family-oriented gaming!
Yes… the “streaming” Netflix library is a small portion of their “rental” library, sad to say. I’ve known this all along, but it seems that not everyone else did. That said, I know that Netflix is working to move more and more titles to their “streaming” side. In fact, their recent deal with Starz brought in a whole lotta recent movies that wouldn’t have been there before! 🙂
